This coming Sunday, May 5th, join Murcia Welcomes You in partnership with Boltify for a unique pilgrimage from Cehegín to Caravaca, one of the most enchanting areas of our region. Discover not only the natural beauty but also the deep spiritual and historical richness of this sacred route.

When: Sunday, May 5th, 2024 Time: 9:00 AM to 7:10 PM Meeting Point: Murcia Bus Station Cost: €14.90 (includes guided tour, transportation, and photo reportage)

Journey Itinerary

The day will begin at 9:00 AM at the Murcia Bus Station, where participants will gather and prepare for the journey. At 9:30 AM, we will depart for Cehegín, the starting point of our pilgrimage.

Cehegín: A Gateway to the Past

Upon arrival in Cehegín, our local guide will take you through the old town, revealing layers of history that date back to Roman times. The visit includes a tour of the Archaeological Museum, home to relics that narrate the tale of the region’s ancient inhabitants.

Trail of Reflection

At around 11:30 AM, we will start our walk along the ancient Barranco del Saltador trail. This path, known for its peaceful river and numerous small waterfalls, offers a perfect setting for personal reflection and connection with nature.

The Greenway to Caravaca

By 12:45 PM, we will transition onto the serene landscapes of the Greenway leading to Caravaca. This part of the trail is smoother and will take us directly to the Fuentes del Marqués by lunchtime.

Lunch at Fuentes del Marqués

We’ll have a relaxing lunch at Fuentes del Marqués, a natural oasis known for its lush greenery and historical sites, including a Templar tower and underground caves.

Caravaca: City of the True Cross

The final leg of our pilgrimage will begin at 4:00 PM with a guided tour through the historic streets of Caravaca, leading up to the Castle and Basilica of the True Cross. Here, participants can explore the site, known for its religious significance and breathtaking views.

A Spiritual Ending with Activities

Our journey will conclude with relaxing activities at the basilica, including a guided meditation and a yoga session overlooking the city, providing a perfect end to a day filled with spiritual discovery and historical exploration.

Return to Murcia: We will depart from Caravaca at 6:20 PM, ensuring we are back in Murcia by 8:50 PM.
