This summer heat in Murcia demands refreshing natural retreats.

1. Poza de Somogil, Moratalla

A perfect nature spot for swimming and relaxation, surrounded by lush vegetation and crystal-clear waters. It’s ideal for unwinding, with water warmer than the river due to the emerging spring.

Unfortunately, this location is not accessible by public transport. However, once you arrive in Moratalla, you’ll discover numerous swimming spots such as Alhárabe River at La Puerta Camping, Turtle’s Stream, and Bolbonegro Canyon. Don’t miss visiting these stunning natural sites!”

2. Fuente Caputa, Mula

Renowned for its crystal-clear waters and serene ambiance, Fuente Caputa is a favorite among nature enthusiasts seeking a tranquil retreat.

This place is remote, but easy accesible if you have your own car. Don’t you? Ask us!

3. Fuente del Gorgotón, Cieza

A lesser-known but equally charming spot to enjoy a refreshing bath in clean, fresh pool with emerging spring water.

4. Burete Stream, Cehegín

Clear waters and a beautiful natural setting make this stream ideal for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty.

In order to reach this place, you will need to reach Cehegín village and then do an intense hike route. But worth it!

5. Cueva del Gigante, Cartagena

A unique adventure with hard access, perfect for sportive and explorer enthusiasts. This cave and its surroundings offer a cool and mysterious place to explore and enjoy. Sweet water deep cave.

Arriving here can be challenging, so we advise against coming alone. If you decide to visit, please contact us for guidance. You may never have seen anything quite like this. Should you choose to come, parking is available at El Portús, Cartagena.

6. River Chícamo, Abanilla

An oasis in a semi-arid landscape, the River Chícamo is a hidden gem with fresh, clear waters. It will remind you off the Grand Canyon in the USA.

7. Bosque de Sotos y Cañaverosa, Calasparra

A green and cool setting, with a chapel sanctuary nearby. This riverside forest offers natural swimming areas and picturesque landscapes.

This place is really special, cause it is the only spot in the Region of Murcia considered as a Natural Reserve.

Natural Pools Accessible by Public Transport

For those who prefer not to rely on a car, here are some ideal options:

8. Playa fluvial el Arenal y La Presa River Beach, Cieza

Perfect for a friendly picnic and swim, this river beach offers a safe and pleasant environment for all ages.

It’s possible to reach them by public transport from Cieza.

9. Playa del Jarral, Abarán

Accessible by bus, this river beach is perfect for a refreshing summer day with clean waters and a cozy natural environment.

You’ll just need to reach Abarán village by public transport, really accesible. But pay attention to the way back!

10. Salto de Usero, Bullas

Famous for its impressive waterfall and refreshing pool, Salto de Usero is iconic among locals and visitors.

The closest village bus stop is in Bullas, check out the time-table.

There is a 60 min walk from the bus stop till the place. Though we do NOT recommend this place, cause it’s very touristic and the space is limited.
